Silver Lake Library Presents - Lisa Wolpe’s Solo Show - Shakespeare and the Alchemy of Gender
Lisa Wolpe is bringing her Solo Show, Shakespeare and the Alchemy of Gender, to the Silver Lake Library, for one night only, Tuesday, December 13 at 6 pm. The show is part of the Library Foundation’s months long celebration of the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. The evening’s performance will be followed by an audience feedback session.
Visionary theater artist Lisa Wolpe’s solo show offers a unique celebration of the enchanting power of cross-gender Shakespeare. Ms. Wolpe has played more of the Bard’s male roles than any woman in history, always to superlative reviews. An activist as well as a celebrated actress and director, Wolpe’s work speaks toward liberation from the “gender box” of expectations.
“Lisa Wolpe's mesmerizing performance celebrates Shakespeare's language and shows the humanity of his writing... a celebration of Shakespeare's humanism, love and life.” –UK Theatre Network *****
