Swimming complements these with cardiovascular and pulmonary improvements, and also enhances the meditative calm of yoga by taking place in water. Swimming isn’t just beneficial for the body, but also calming and restorative for the mind. The water not only takes a lot of stress off the joints, but also blocks external sounds and distractions while soothing and caressing the body.
These workouts will run from 6 to 7 a.m. Tues-Fri, April 11-21, at the Echo Park Deep Pool, 1419 Colton St.
