Voices of LA: The Krupnick Festival of the Arts is a citywide series of cross-cultural collaborations, bringing together award-winning Jewish artists with artmakers from diverse communities across Los Angeles, representing a broad range of ethnicities, cultures, and disciplines. The first concert in the series will feature an eclectic musical performance pairing the sociopolitical, Jewish-inspired, salsa-pop- reggae-hip-hop sounds of Wil-Dog Abers of the Grammy-winning band Ozomatli with the new-school 'alt-R&B' rhythms of Jarell Perry.
This collaborative performance will feature a mash-up of Ozomatli's signature bass-pounding Latin, funk, and rock hits with the soulful, progressive R&B styling of Jarrel Perry's songs, utilizing different arrangements and accompaniments to create a one-of-a-kind sound.
RSVP is required
The free festival is a showcase of Los Angeles's varied art practices, including music, dance, spoken word, and visual arts and will be held in venues across metropolitan Los Angeles throughout July and August. The series will culminate in a day-long festival on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 at the historic Wilshire Boulevard Temple in Koreatown.
