A Crucial Decision for the LA River!   The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will present the Los Angeles River Ecosystem Restoration Integrated Feasibility Report in an official public meeting on Thursday, October 17 from 5:30-7:30PM at Los Angeles River Center & Gardens (Atrium) 570 W. Avenue 26, Los Angeles 90065   Friends of the Los Angeles River encourages stakeholders to attend this presentation of the ARBOR Study and offer comments on the report.  The reach of this study includes Burbank, Glendale, Griffith Park, and the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Atwater Village, Glassell Park, Cypress Park, Silver Lake, Elysian Valley, Lincoln Heights, Elysian Park, Chinatown, Boyle Heights, and Downtown.   Rendering of Taylor Yard G-2 Parcel Restoration   FoLAR emphatically supports Alternative 20, the most robust habitat restoration plan, and a large coalition of environmental groups agrees.  Elected officials at all levels of government support this significant investment in the highly-degraded Los Angeles Watershed.   Rendering of Arroyo Seco Confluence Restoration   In their feasibility report, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers chose Alternative 13 as their Tentatively Selected Plan (TSP).  The task at hand is to influence the Army Corps in Washington, D.C. to select Alternative 20.   Rendering of Potential River Connection to LA State Historic Park   This study took seven years and almost $10 million dollars to complete.  We must seize this opportunity to remove more concrete, create more habitat, and restore more wetlands for the health of the wildlife and people of Los Angeles.   Won't you help us?
