Gardening time at the Meadow in Silver Lake

Get out and enjoy nature and learn a bit at the same time at the First Workshop and Maintenance Day of the native garden at the Silver Lake Meadow on Sat. Dec. 15, 9 am.

Your hosts, volunteers Julia and Kathleen, along with Andrew Chaves of Theodore Payne, will be:

  • Identifying the plants and learning more about them
  • Spreading mulch
  • Weeding after the rain
  • Watering
  • Staking the Toyons (Hollywood's namesake)
  • Planting a dozen donated native salvias (thank you anonymous sage donor!)
In an email, Julie and Kathleen sweetly note: "We won’t have the Marshall High gang this time so we need as many folks as possible!"
Please your own rakes, shovels, weeders, etc. and a special request - bring a bucket or a wheelbarrow.
Thanks to new partner Baller Hardware - where you can show your Silverlake Native Garden Club button or mention “Meadow Native Garden” and get 20% off on tools, gloves, etc.  at Baller.
