1909-In accordance with a declaration by the Socialist Party of America, the first National Woman's Day (NWD) was observed across the United States on 28 February. Women continued to celebrate NWD on the last Sunday of February until 1913.

PROGRAM

Margaret Flynn
Medical Qigong Practitioner

Qigong, along with acupuncture and herbal medicine, is one of the three branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  It is the practice of meditative exercise, both static and dynamic.  The purpose of practicing is to regulate, guide and cultivate the energy of the body for a "flow state" of balanced health and well-being.  To practice, one engages one's own breath, posture and intention to sense and attend to one’s own energetic status.  Certain exercises care for particular emotions, organs of the physical system, boundaries and points which support transformation.  The result is overall relaxation and health improvement.  Margaret Flynn is now in her 9th year of Qigong practice.  She holds a bachelor's degree in Fine Art from Kansas City Art Institute and a Medical Qigong Practitioner certificate from The Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkely."

Teresa Padua has practiced aromatherapy for over 16 years and has created several essential oil blends under her label; Ancient Wolf Woman Oils.   She has worked with healthcare practitioners in formulating specific oils as requested.  She will share a few sample oils at this event.
