Wiggle & Work is the latest movement in coworking spaces for working families, providing on-premise child care for children ages three months to four years in age, giving parents the option to book in two-hour increments through the Wiggle & Work mobile app. From a private talk-box and lounge area to individual desks, there are many options for working parents who need on demand, flexible, and affordable child care on the eastside of Los Angeles. Owned-and-operated by a husband and wife team with two children of their own, Wiggle & Work grew from their personal experience juggling busy careers and family.
“With so many parents working as freelancers or remote employees these days, we saw the need for childcare to reflect the changes in the way people work,” states Wiggle & Work Founder & CEO Naomi Leight-Give’on. “One of the biggest challenges that parents face with young children is finding flexible andaffordable child care since there are very few options other than in-home care or full-time daycare,” Leight-Give’on goes on to say. “So when creating Wiggle & Work, we wanted to fill that gap for working parents,as well as utilize the latest technology, creating a custom mobile app for easy booking and child caremanagement.”
Wiggle & Work is located in the Los Feliz-Silver Lake area of Los Angeles and provides professional, highly trained, and vetted staff who supervise children in its whimsical, curiosity-inspiring indoor playground and learning center. Its artist-designed walls foster imagination and creativity, while its playground and toys allow children to refine their hand-eye coordination and fine motor and social skills.
Coworking options are plentiful at Wiggle & Work and designed to accommodate both the children andparents’ needs. The main play area has co-working desks along its perimeter for parents who want to stay close to the action or whose children are not yet ready to separate from mom or dad. Upstairs there are three options, a private talk-box to make calls, a lounge area with couch seating and a coffee and tea bar, and a quiet room with co-working desks that overlooks the play area. Coworking includes a selection of coffee and tea, high-speed internet, and printing. There are snacks and espresso beverages available for an additional cost. They also offer hourly playground visits, without a reservation, for parents and caregivers to utilize the space ($10/hour) as well as party space rental on Saturday afternoons and all-day Sunday ($399+).
Wiggle & Work offers co-working packages and monthly memberships with rates starting as low as $8 per hour for monthly members up to $24 per hour for drop-in. Membership benefits include free use of the private phone booth and bring an additional adult. Located on Vermont Avenue at Santa Monica Boulevard, Wiggle & Work is easily accessible by metro bus and is situated across the street from the Vermont and Santa Monica Redline Metro Station.
