Los Angeles Council District 4 is representing about half of Silver Lake. David Ryu is running for reelection. His able Silver Lake Field Deputy Rachel Fox often attends functions in the community such as Baller Hardware's 60th Anniversary, Best of Silver Lake Gala and a holiday event hosted at the Autry. She has been responsive to our needs. Councilmember Ryu spoke to the Silver Lake and Hollywood Chambers about local issues such as alternatives to road diets and a subject near and dear to his heart, homelessness solutions. He has been very transparent, revealing all the ways he spends his discretionary funds. 

Local podcaster, National Night Out coordinator, Neighborhood Watch leader and all around involved citizen Paul Michael Neuman is current chair of the L.A. County Democratic Party's County Central Committee, 43rd Assembly District delegation. Democrats and only Democrats will be able to vote on this and vote for up to seven candidates. His wife Renee Nahum is a past member and current alternate, and they are offering their services on a slate known as United Democrats 43 (uniteddems43.com). 

Angelenos now have more choices than ever for date, time and place for voting. Los Angeles polling places that are open for 11 days began taking votes on Feb. 22. And more choices opened up on Sat.
