We stood up against special interests and their Super PAC money. We showed that integrity and decency can beat the establishment and their negative campaigning.

I'm so proud to be a resident of District 13 today. You keep hearing in the news how voters in L.A. aren't engaged—how they don't care.

Well, our District cares.

From Dodger-fan David Perez in Atwater Village to Miss Soltero in Silver Lake—a diehard voter who took two buses in heavy traffic to vote for me—I saw firsthand just how passionate we are about our neighborhoods.

If you voted for me, volunteered, or contributed to my campaign, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

If you voted for my opponent, I'm reaching out to you today to start our new friendship. I'm going to work hard to earn your support. I look forward to being your loyal and humble servant on the L.A. City Council.

Together, let's continue the path forward. Let's make District 13 all it can be. Let's build our future.

(Also, since we’re a green District and we love our environment, let’s all pitch in and properly dispose of campaign lawn signs now that the race is over. My team and I will be going around getting as many as we can in the coming days!)
