Saturday, December 13th marks the dedication and unveiling of the Silver Lake Reservoir Conservancy’s interpretive signage project at West Silver Lake Drive and Tesla Avenue, at about 11:00 AM. This has been a major project of SLRC, over two years in the making, with generous support from Metabolic Studio.
The sign dedication will follow a walk around the Ivanhoe Reservoir over the “Esplanade” (the dam separating Ivanhoe from Silver Lake), led by LA Councilman Tom LaBonge, which will follow a 110th Anniversary Celebration of the Silver Lake Reservoirs, beginning at 9:30 am, hosted by Councilmen LaBonge and Mitch O’Farrell.
Access to the 110th Anniversary event is limited to RSVP’s only, so register promptly if you want to attend—that event will take place at the Ivanhoe Reservoir, entering via the main Reservoir complex gate at Armstrong and Tesla Avenues. Here is the Link to RSVP:http://www.ladwpneighborhoodnews.com/go/survey/1643/23398
Additional activities are planned, including a temporary art exhibition on West Silver Lake and Tesla. Kid’s activities and informational pop-up sessions on the future of the Reservoirs, and other fun events, will be at the Mallard Grove on Tesla, next to the Neighborhood Nursery School. See you then and there!
