Saturday 10/24, 10-3 - Micheltorena Gardenen, Sunset and Micheltorena.
Starting at 10 we'll be making 'native-seed bombs' to sow all over Silver Lake. A special native seed mix, 'The Silver Lake Mix' has been created by Theodore Payne Foundation. A lecture by Genny from Theodore Payne on native seeds and ecosystems will be held at noon, but come early and help us set up, stay afterwards and make seed bombs.
Please join us for this fun event and later in November, before the rains start (Yeah, El Niño!), go out and seed bomb Silver Lake for a magical spring 2016 bloom.
Let's get together and give a chance to native ecosystems to re-establish themselves in our midsts. Along the freeway, empty lots, public stairs, street madians and parkways, hillsides, cracks in the asphalt. Wildflowers welcome pollinators and they help our foods happen.
OPEN TO ALL SILVER LAKE RESIDENTS AND ENTHUSIASTS OF ALL AGES! FUN FUN FUN!
Sponsored by the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council and Theodore Payne Foundation. Special thanks to Lisa Hart and the SLNC Green Committee.
