A little about me
34-year resident of Silver Lake. Former preisdent, current board member of the Silver Lake Improvement Assn. Forunder/Organizer of Music Box Steps Day children's film festival, now in its 19th year. Media studies professor at USC and UCLA, author or editor of five books, most recently "Land of Smoke and Mirrors: A Cultural History of Los Angeles," about which I'm giving a talk Jan. 26, 2pm, at the Autry Museum.
